“주한미군 떠나고 중국의 군대가 한국에 와야”…요즘 조선족들이 하는 주장

한국에 거주하는 중국 조선족들은 요즘 이런 말을 자주 한다고 한다. “몇 백 년 전만 해도 조선 반도는 황제의 나라 중국을 숭상했는데, 어찌 저 바다 건너먼 나라 미국의 종이 됐는가?” 예로부터 중국이 한반도에 있는 나라를 어여삐 여겨 보호해주고 감싸줬는데, 이제 다시 그 어여쁨을 받는 게 어떻겠느냐고 이야기한다는 것이다. 이러한 주장을 하는 사람들은 결국 한 가지 결론에 다다른다. 그것은 바로 ‘주한 중국군’의 필요성이다.
Lately, Chinese ethnic Koreans living reportedly discuss the following:
"How a few hundred years ago, the Korean Peninsula worshipped the emperor's country, China, and now become a servant of a country across the sea, the United States. Since the old days, China has embraced and protected the country on the Korean Peninsula, and now it is time to say, ‘Why don't we get that beauty again?’ Those who make these claims eventually come to one conclusion. That is the need for the 'Chinese military in South Korea.'“
최근 중국 조선족들 사이에서는 미국의 군대보다는 중국 군대가 한국에 주둔하는 게 더 효율적이라는 것을 홍보해야 한다는 이야기가 돌고 있다. 한 조선족은 “중국의 25만 군대가 한국에 주둔해주면 서울은 완벽하게 보호할 수 있다”면서 “북한과 통일도 할 수 있다”고 주장했다. 또 다른 조선족은 “중국군의 주둔하면 한국이 늘 무서워하는 중국과 다시 친해질 수 있다”며 “그러면 중국이 한국을 공격하는 일은 없을 것”이라고 말했다.
Recently, talk has been circulating among ethnic Koreans in China that it is more efficient for Chinese troops to be stationed in South Korea than the U.S. military. A Korean-Chinese claimed that if China's 250,000 troops are stationed in South Korea, Seoul can be perfectly protected and unification with North Korea can also be achieved. Another Chinese ethnic Korean commented, "The presence of Chinese troops could make a once feared China more friendly with South Korea. Then China will not have any reason to attack South Korea."
아울러 주한 중국군이 있으면 다른 국가도 무서워서 한국을 침략하지 못할 거라는 주장도 있다. 이들은 그 옛날 조선이 임진왜란을 극복할 수 있었던 원동력은 모두 중국 덕분이었다고 강조한다. 동생을 지켜줬던 형님이 다시 동생을 지켜줄 것이라는 얘기다. 그러나 한국 시민들의 반응 차갑다. 중국에 대한, 중국 조선족에 대한 악감정 때문이 전혀 아니다. 그저 믿지 못할 뿐이다. 조선족들의 주장을 허무맹랑한 이야기로 치부하는 이들은 “6.25전쟁에서 중국은 한국의 적국이었다”고 입을 모은다.
In addition, some argue that the presence of Chinese troops in South Korea will prevent other countries from invading South Korea because they are afraid. They stress that the old Joseon Dynasty was able to overcome the Japanese invasion of Korea thanks to China. In other words, the older brother (China), protected his younger brother (South Korea), and will now protect him again. However, South Korean citizens are responding coldly to the comments. It is not at all because of bad feelings toward China, or against Chinese ethnic Koreans in China. I just don't believe it. Those who dismiss the argument of Chinese ethnic Koreans as an empty story say that “China was South Korea's enemy in the Korean War.”
서로에게 총부리를 겨누고 전쟁을 하던 사이기 때문에 믿기 힘들다는 것이다. 실제 중국은 6.25전쟁에서 북한을 도와 한국을 공격했었다. 거의 다 끝난 전쟁은 중국의 개입으로 형세가 바뀌었다. 통일이 눈앞이었지만, 결국 한반도는 분단됐다. 현재 한국은 미국과 ‘방위 분담금’을 놓고 협상을 벌이고 있다. 미국 트럼프 정부 측에서 매년 6조원의 돈을 요구한다는 이야기가 흘러나온다. 다소 과한 측면이 있다는 게 한미 전문가들의 공통된 시각이다. 그래서 이 틈을 중국이 파고 들려고 하는 것으로 보인다. 한미 동맹을 흔들려는 수작이라는 이야기도 일각에서는 제기되고 있다.
