중국 언론 "시진핑 '항미원조' 연설, 미국 겨냥한 경고"

Chinese media: “Xi Jinping's ‘Korean War’ speech, a direct warning to US”

(베이징=연합뉴스) 김윤구 특파원 = 시진핑(習近平) 중국 국가 주석이 지난 23일 한국전쟁 참전 기념행사에서 "신성한 영토를 침범하고 분열시키도록 놔두지 않을 것"이라고 한 발언들은 "미국에 엄중한 경고를 한 것"이라고 중국의 관영 언론들이 전했다. 24일 글로벌타임스에 따르면 중국 전문가들은 시 주석의 전날 '항미원조'(抗美援朝) 전쟁 70주년 기념식 발언은 미군과 유엔군이 1950년 38선을 넘기 전에 중국이 했던 경고와 비슷하다고 평가했다. 그러면서 이는 최근 미중간의 갈등이 충돌 직전으로 치닫고 있다는 것을 보여준다고 말했다. 시 주석은 이번 연설에서 한국전쟁 당시 중국 최고 지도자였던 마오쩌둥(毛澤東) 주석이 미국을 겨냥해 "중국 인민을 건드릴 수는 없다. 중국 인민을 성나게 했다가는 상대하기 어려울 것"이라고 했던 말도 인용했다. 그는 "어떠한 위협이나 봉쇄, 극한의 압박도 반드시 도처에서 벽에 부딪히고 결국 죽음의 길에 이를 것"이라고 말했다. 그는 "국가 주권과 안보, 발전이익이 훼손되는 것을 좌시하지 않을 것이며 어떤 세력도 조국의 신성한 영토를 침범하고 분열시키도록 내버려 두지 않을 것이다. 이런 엄중한 상황이 발생하면 중국 인민은 반드시 정면에서 통렬하게 공격할 것"이라고도 말했다.

이와 관련해 뤼샹 중국사회과학원 연구원은 "도널드 트럼프 정부가 이끄는 미국에 보내는 매우 분명한 메시지"라고 평가했다. 중국 최고지도자가 한국전쟁 참전 기념행사에서 직접 연설을 한 것도 2000년 장쩌민(江澤民) 국가주석 이후 20년 만이다. 뤼 연구원은 미국은 1950년의 실수를 반복하지 않아야 한다면서 "1950년이나 2020년이나 미국 정책 결정자와 정치 엘리트들은 중국의 경고를 허세로 오해한다. 중국은 라이벌이 경고를 듣지 않으면 소리 없이 첫 타격을 할 것"이라고 말했다. 중국국제문제연구원의 양시위 연구원은 최근 전쟁 위험이 커지고 미국의 패권 행동이 판치고 있다며 '항미원조' 전쟁의 정신은 여전히 계승할 필요가 있다고 말했다.

정지융 푸단대학 북한·한국연구센터 주임은 "현재 서태평양과 아시아 상황이 1950년 당시 전쟁 발발 전과 점점 비슷해지고 있다"며 "중국은 여러 측면에서 막중한 전략적 압력을 받고 있는데 이 모든 긴장의 근원은 미국"이라고 비판했다. 그러므로 70년 전 미국과 싸웠던 전쟁의 정신을 계승하자고 강조하는 것은 지금의 도전에 대처할 때 큰 가치가 있다고 그는 덧붙였다. 특히 시 주석이 "영토 침범과 분열"을 언급한 것은 대만 해협에서 미중간의 군사적 긴장이 높아지는 상황에서 대만 문제를 놓고 경고를 날린 것이라는 해석도 나온다. 글로벌타임스는 사설에서 대만 민진당 정부에 대해 "중국에 대한 외세의 전략적 압력에 미친 듯이 협력하고 있다"고 비난했다. 이 신문은 또 "미국이 대중국 봉쇄 전략을 펼치며 근육을 과시하고 있다. 우리는 미국에 역사를 명심하고 중국의 의지를 오판하는 잘못된 길을 가지 말라고 경고한다"고 밝혔다.
